As we start to see Vermont open up ever so slowly, we wanted provide a little guidance on the current restrictions and what you need to know about planning your trip to Stowe and The Little River Inn. The guidelines provided by the Vermont Department of Health and Governor Phil Scott are changing almost daily so please check healthvermont.gov for the very latest updates. Here is a summary of the travel restrictions currently in place for Vermont:
Travelers from certain counties in New England and New York may travel to Vermont unrestricted. A map of these counties is shown here. This map is updated every Friday to reflect the changing active case counts in the northeast.
Travelers from other areas in the northeast and beyond are required to quarantine at home if traveling by personal vehicle or in a Vermont lodging establishment if traveling by other means. Quarantine options are listed in detail here.
Guests who arrive showing COVID-19 symptoms or develop such symptoms during their visit will not be allowed to stay in a Vermont lodging facility.
Guests are required to complete this Certificate of Compliance and submit it at check in.
All out of state travelers are strongly encouraged to register with Sara Alert upon arrival to Vermont to get two weeks of daily reminders to check for common symptoms of COVID-19.
When you get to Stowe, it is the idyllic summer destination it has always been. Just a little less crowded perhaps. Restaurants and breweries are open although at 50% capacity and many have expanded their outdoor dining areas. Masks are required in all businesses and public areas in Stowe. Retail business are open for in-store shopping. Parks, trails, and recreation areas are open.
At The Little River Inn, we are rigorously following CDC and the Vermont Department of Health guidelines regarding lodging and food service sanitization and health safety best practices. Masks are required in all of our indoor common areas and outdoors on the hot tub deck if others are present. All common areas will be cleaned and touch points sanitized multiple times per day. In accordance with Vermont Health Department guidelines, housekeeping services will only be available for stays of 5 or more nights and arranged by request.
We are very fortunate that Vermont has among the lowest COVID-19 infection rates in the country and Stowe offers tons of recreational activities that are tailor-made for social distancing. Hiking, biking, boating, fishing, golf, tennis, or just kicking back with a book and a beverage by the Little River- it's all here!
