As we start to see cases in much of the country rise, we wanted provide a little guidance on the current restrictions and what you need to know about planning your trip to Stowe and The Little River Inn. The guidelines provided by the Vermont Department of Health and Governor Phil Scott are changing often so please check healthvermont.gov for the very latest updates. Here is a summary of the travel restrictions currently in place for Vermont:
All persons traveling to Vermont from out of state are now required to quarantine at home for 14 days or for 7 days followed by a negative COVID test if traveling by personal vehicle. If you plan to travel to Vermont by public transportation (plane, train, or bus), you are required to quarantine in Vermont for the durations above.
Guests who arrive showing COVID-19 symptoms or develop such symptoms during their visit will not be allowed to stay in a Vermont lodging facility.
Guests are required to complete this Certificate of Compliance and submit it at check in.
All out of state travelers are strongly encouraged to register with Sara Alert upon arrival to Vermont to get two weeks of daily reminders to check for common symptoms of COVID-19.
When you get to Stowe, we are preparing for snow season for all of the wintertime activities we love. Just a little less crowded perhaps. Most restaurants and breweries are open for dine in and take out although at reduced their capacities to comply with social distancing. Masks are required in all businesses and public areas in Stowe. Retail business are open for in-store shopping. Parks, trails, and recreation areas are open. Stowe Mountain Resort and many other ski areas have implemented a reservation system for tickets so please check with each area you plan to ski/board to see what their policies are.
At The Little River Inn, we are rigorously following CDC and the Vermont Department of Health guidelines regarding lodging and food service sanitization and health safety best practices. Masks are required in all of our indoor common areas and outdoors on the hot tub deck if others are present. All common areas will be cleaned and touch points sanitized multiple times per day. In accordance with Vermont Health Department guidelines, housekeeping services will only be available for stays of 5 or more nights and arranged by request. Our breakfast room is open to guests in the evening to allow for socially distanced take-out meals.
We are very fortunate that Vermont has among the lowest COVID-19 infection rates in the country and Stowe offers tons of recreational activities that are tailor-made for social distancing. Skiing (Nordic and Alpine), snowshoeing, hiking, fat-biking, are all available!
