Our Story

So what do you do when your kids are adults and have moved away, you've grown tired of your corporate jobs, and retirement age is drawing closer and closer? This was our dilemma and we took a leap.

We hail from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and have been escaping to New England to beat the southern summer heat for several years. Kim was a restaurant manager for over 10 years and Phil worked in IT for a large resort for 25 so the hospitality industry is well known to us. In our early years together, we also lived in what could generously be called "fixer-uppers" and we, well, fixed them up. We set out looking for a second career and a move north that made sense given our skill set and thought that innkeeping was a good fit. So we set about trying to find an inn for sale in a location that we loved that maybe needed a little TLC. We found it in Stowe.

We first visited Stowe while on vacation in the summer of 2013 and were immediately in love with the town and the surrounding area. So much to do and such a lively community with events, hiking, biking, paddling, shopping, art and music, great beer, and, of course, Stowe is the Ski Capital of the East. Vermont's largest city, Burlington, is a short drive away and has a thriving cultural scene with legendary music, theater, and a great walking downtown. Sunsets over Lake Champlain are not to be missed. Pretty much checked every box on our wish list.

The climate, people, topography, and charm of Vermont speaks to us and Stowe offers what we consider to be the best of best.We would love to share our passion for this place with you and to hear your story.
